My Why: "Becoming a breast cancer survivor has given me a desire to serve on a board that helps others struggling with paying bills. My journey was an extraordinary one. The treatments were extensive with several surgeries and radiation. Being self employed and unable to work myself, my husband lost his job right smack dab in the middle of all these huge medical bills. It was a very scary time in our family's life. Being on the other side years later, I feel like it is an honor and privilege to be here to help survivors. I hope that the patients we help will know they are not alone!"
