Janet Carr brings more than 35 years of experience across manufacturing, consulting, and healthcare leadership to her role as Emergency Access Funds Coordinator at the Tennessee Breast Cancer Coalition (TBCC).
Passionate about serving others, Janet has been involved with the YMCA’s After Breast Cancer program for over four years—first as a participant and now as a co-facilitator of Journey to Wholeness support groups—helping breast cancer patients find hope and healing along their journeys.
At TBCC, Janet’s strong organizational skills directly support the organization’s mission to be the foremost advocate and provider for Tennesseans facing breast cancer. By efficiently and carefully processing Emergency Access Funds applications, she enables the committee to review and approve assistance quickly—ensuring timely help reaches those who need it most.
Outside of her professional and board work, Janet enjoys cooking, exploring new restaurants, traveling with family and friends, staying physically active—especially within the Survivor Fitness community—and learning to speak Spanish.
She is committed to fostering compassion in every interaction and continuously improving processes so TBCC can continue making a meaningful impact across the state.
My Why:
I serve at TBCC because, as the Emergency Access Funds Coordinator, I see firsthand the urgent financial needs of individuals undergoing treatment. I am inspired daily by the dedication of our Board and staff, and by the generosity of donors and volunteers who make it possible to maximize resources for those who need them most.
