Karen Witte has spent her career caring for others.  She brings 40 years of experience in bedside nursing and nursing education to her role on the TBCC Board of Directors.

As a retired nurse educator, and Pathway to Excellence Coordinator at TriStar Summit Medical Center, Karen managed multiple initiatives that brought national recognition to Summit as a "Pathway to Excellence" hospital.  This designation recognizes Summit as a hospital which provides an empowering work environment for nurses, improving patient satisfaction and outcomes.

She is passionate about patient advocacy. 

Karen serves on the Executive Board at TBCC as Secretary.  Her expertise in education and project management, advances TBCC's mission to be the foremost advocate and provider for Tennesseans facing breast cancer.  

My Why: "I am a breast cancer survivor and completed extensive treatment in 2023.  This experience has made me aware of the importance of community support during this journey which allows patients, like myself, the ability to focus our energy on recovery.  I am thankful to serve breast cancer patients at TBCC."
